Norma McCorvey, Jane Roe, of Roe v. Wade speaks at Mid-Point Rally!

We, 40 Days for Life Memphis, held our first Mid-Point Rally! To rejoice in the four children saved and the days past we invited Miss Norma McCorvey, Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade to come and speak. The Rally was held at River Oaks Reformed Presbyterian Church, and Pastor William Spink Jr. led us in prayer. We had over 100+ people attend the event. Norma spoke of her life before her conversion, the infamous Supreme Court case which legalized abortion in the U.S., her conversion, and now her ardent campaign against abortion. Randall Crow, 40 Days for Life Church Coordinator, welcomed everyone and introduced all the ministers present. There was a representation of many different diverse faith backgrounds present, and the unifying of all for the common cause of Life was amazing to see. The St. Benedict Teens for Life were present, as were respresentatives from Life Chain and Tennessee Citizens Concerned for Life. Devanie Cooper, Campaign Director, and David Drees, Communications Coordinator, for 40 Days for Life both spoke on how 40 Days got started in Memphis and how 40 Days hoped to get everyone involved in this crucial life-saving effort. James Riddick led everyone in prayerful song. It was an amazing and blessed event!
